Wed, 08 Apr

At Passover we celebrate the release of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. It was a prophetic signpost to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross and our freedom from sin.

About the event
Passover is the meal Jesus shared with His disciples before His crucifixion. The Hebrews were told to kill a lamb and paint its blood over their doorposts to protect them, as the angel of death swept across Egypt killing all the firstborn. The Hebrews were then set free.
We celebrate this with a Seder meal (seder=order), which takes us through the events of the first Passover and into the freedom we now experience in Jesus. The Communion service is based on this meal, as a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice for us.
Interesting facts:
- Jesus' parents traveled to Jerusalem every year to celebrate Passover, as all male Jews were expected to do. At age 12 Jesus went with them.
Join us for this special meal. Places are limited to 40, so book early! Please note we will be taking a voluntary offering during the evening meal, to cover catering costs.
